Distant Aftercare Program
Once a client completes our 35-day Residential Addiction Treatment Program, they are entering one of the biggest challenges of recovery: living life and living it clean and sober. In our Aftercare Program, De Novo staff work alongside you while you practice the tools learned in our recovery setting.
The Aftercare Program is an integral part of the De Novo Treatment Centre program and your continuum of care. The programming provides post-treatment supports and relapse prevention, as well as ongoing connections to alumni and various 12-step fellowships. Clients work with their counsellor to develop personalized aftercare components before graduating the Residential program.
With any attempt for lasting change, we know that practice, patience, and utilizing supports is essential. De Novo offers a variety of supports to further assist clients in their recovery.
Distant Aftercare Program
Since 2014, De Novo has offered virtual programming to clients who have completed our residential program. Educational content is delivered on a 12-week rotation by a De Novo counsellor. By attending one session per week, clients can continue to stay connected, learn, and address the challenges that they face in a supportive and safe space.

PHONE SESSIONS
While our treatment team is available 24/7 for client support, we also provide up to one year of ongoing counselling phone calls to clients who have completed the Residential Program. This allows clients to speak to a counsellor and receive ongoing support in their recovery.
ALUMNI AND OTHER REFERRALS
De Novo has maintained an alumni program to connect our past clients with those who have recently completed our programming. This arrangement is beneficial in developing new connections in recovery. We also help make connections for clients to their local 12-step groups through Alcoholics Anonymous’ “Bridging the Gap” program and at times, make referrals to other aftercare programs in their local areas.
