Trans Lifeline

ConnexOntario – a free and confidential service offering support through phone, chat, text, and email for people in Ontario. It provides information about mental health, gambling, and addiction services available both within and outside their community.

Alcoholics Anonymous (AA)

Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) – a fellowship of people who share their experience, strength, and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. Using the Twelve Steps as a guide, AA’s primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety. Find a meeting near you here, or through downloading the AA Meeting Guide App.

Narcotics Anonymous (NA)

Narcotics Anonymous (NA) – a global, community-based organization that offers recovery from the effects of addiction through working a twelve-step program. The group atmosphere provides help from peers and offers an ongoing support network for addicts who wish to pursue and maintain a drug-free lifestyle. Cocaine Anonymous (CA)

Cocaine Anonymous (CA) – similar to AA and NA, Cocaine Anonymous is a fellowship of recovering addicts who maintain their individual sobriety by working with others. Anyone who wants to stop using cocaine and all other mind-altering substances (including alcohol and other drugs) is welcome. Find a meeting near you here.

Al-Anon

Al-Anon – is a mutual support program for people whose lives have been affected by someone else’s drinking. By sharing common experiences and applying the Al-Anon principles, families and friends of alcoholics can bring positive changes to their individual situations, where or not the alcoholic admits the existence of a drinking problem or seeks help.

Alateen

Alateen – a part of the Al-Anon Family Groups, Alateen is a fellowship of young people (mostly teenagers) whose lives have been affected by someone else’s drinking whether they are in your life drinking or not. By attending Alateen, teenagers meet other teenagers with similar situations.

SMART Recovery

SMART Recovery – Self Management and Recovery Training (SMART) Recovery is an evidence-informed recovery method grounded in Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy (REBT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), that supports people with substance dependencies or problem behaviours to build and maintain motivation, cope with urges or cravings, manage behaviours, and live a balanced life. Everything AA (App)

Everything AA (App) – a free app that contains recovery-based readings, podcasts, and information. An excellent complement to your 12-Step program!

HeadsUpGuys

HeadsUpGuys – an online, anonymous resource specifically designed for men, and their families, to prevent the continued erosion of men’s mental health and deaths by suicide. The website offers tips and articles that arm men with the tools they need to fight depression, as well as recovery stories from men who have faced depression, and an international therapist directory to connect men with local mental health professionals.

BounceBack

BounceBack – a free skill-building program managed by the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA). It is designed to help adults and youth 15+ manage low mood, depression, anxiety, stress or worry. Delivered over the phone with a coach and through online videos, you will get access to tools that will support you on your path to mental wellness.

Breaking Free

Breaking Free – a confidential wellness and recovery support program for alcohol and drugs. Breaking Free is an evidence-based digital behaviour change program that allows people to recognize and actively address the psychological and lifestyle issues that are driving their use of alcohol or drugs, so helping to support their recovery.

Hammer Time

Hammer Time – is a support group for people in the construction industry who are struggling with substance use issues and may need access to recovery and/or harm reduction services. Meetings are a mix of education, discussion, and practical coping skills. Meetings are hosted Thursdays at 7pm through the Zoom link.

Insight Timer

Insight Timer – a free app that contains a variety of guided meditations to help reduce anxiety, improve sleep, or gain awareness.

Ontario Structured Psychotherapy Program (OSP)

Ontario Structured Psychotherapy Program (OSP) – offers free, publicly funded, short-term cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) with a psychotherapist, providing practical and goal-oriented support. CBT teaches people how to change their patterns of behaviour and thinking, which can help improve mental health and make it easier to cope with difficult emotions and situations.
